Hotels in Manali page on Intermiles
I always wanted to visit Manali and explore the specialities of this town. So, last year, I made a plan with my friends and made our booking at the Span Resort from the myriad range of hotels in Manali available online at the Intermiles and reserved our stay for a few days. We already had chalked out a list of places to visit in the town but we barely had any plans to camp there. However, on reach, we were suggested by the locals to try camping at some of the best places for an incredible experience. So, we decided to go camping in the mornings and come back to the hotel after sunset. So, that was pretty much how we made our itinerary and I must say, camping was truly refreshing and a wonderful experience for all of us. Having said that, here is a detailed overview of the places where we went camping at Manali on our vacation.
Explored Kullu Valley
View of our camp at Kullu Valley
After having a light breakfast at the hotel, our first plan was to experience camping at Kullu Valley. Popularly considered to be the “Valley of the Gods” this valley is one of the best places in Manali for a true camping experience. Reasons? Well, the aura of this place with the right blend of tranquility and magic will win your heart. My friend was so excited after reaching here that she immediately captured beautiful scenic shots of this place for her insta-upload. But my male friends were quite charged up to explore the activities this place has to offer. Surprisingly, we only thought trekking is what can only be done here. But we were wrong. We were quite impressed when we learned that rafting, climbing, paragliding and rock climbing are also some other activities that the organizers have for their guests. So, you can imagine how excited we were to try them all. But due to time constraints, we limited ourselves to paragliding and trekking and strolling by the place. We had lunch at the nearby stalls and headed towards our hotel by the evening.
Enjoyed the gushing sound of the River Beas at Bhuntar
Campsite near the River Beas
For the next day, Bhuntar was our target. Just like the other day, we had our breakfast at the hotel and dropped at Bhuntar around 8 p.m. Since the place stays less crowded in comparison to Kully Valley, camping here was quite rejuvenating to our souls. As we reached the place, we were welcomed with the gushing sound of the River Beas which is located just next to this place. We got a tent for ourselves, clicked pictures of the surroundings, sat close to the river and chatted merrily. During the afternoon, we had an authentic North Indian lunch at the nearby food stall and after that, sat for some more time to admire the beauty. Finally, we packed our bags and ended the day on a good note.
Admired the beauty of the apple farms at Sethan
Organic apple farm at Sethan
Our third picnic spot was an offbeat place on the list – Sethan. If you love to explore offbeat places, Sethan should be on your list. The reasons are many. First is the fact that it is located amid a restricted zone in Manali. So, if you are daring enough, this place will surely give you some thrill. Second is its establishment at a height of 800m above Manali, so if you want to see a panoramic view of the entire town, this place is an ideal spot. And the final reason is its surrounding that is covered with organic apple farms. So, you can imagine the place blooming with multiple shades of red under a clear white sky that is one of the best combinations to witness. We were very happy when we came for camping here as the organic apple farms looked very beautiful against a clear backdrop. And also, the bird view of the Manali from this spot captivated our interest as well. Since we had to do our packing for the way back come, we could only spend some hours here but it was all worth it.
So, this is how we ended our camping tour at Manali and were quite satisfied on our way back home. So, if you are still thinking about whether to go for it or not, then don’t. Because when it comes to Manali, you don’t think twice.
